In our interview, Nathan argues that one of the key elements an ethical company needs is trust and transparency. Ethical data practices are vital so that consumers know how their data is being used and for what purposes. He argues that although this is an essential factor, companies fail to be transparent about how information is being used.

At Greater than Learning, Nathan works with companies to get them thinking about data ethics and how to increase trust with their consumers. Some companies might be proud of their ethical behaviour regarding environmental, social, and governmental issues. Yet, they might not be as transparent they are in sharing how they use consumer data.
